Fishing Reports
  Miami, Flamingo and Biscayne Bay

Well our temps have been nice so far this month with highs
in the 60's and 70's making for some beautiful weather to
fish in. The fishing out of Miami has been some of the best
with Tarpon leading the target list. Early mornings and evening
trips have been producing multiple hook ups with fish averaging 40 to
100 lbs. Best tactics have been something involving a shrimp for it is there primary food source this time of year. Due to the shrimp runs that occur other fish such
as big jacks, snapper, grouper, mackerel, snook, and permit are also bending the rods while targeting the silver king. On the flats of Biscayne Bay bonefishing has been solid with an average catch of 3 fish a day. When targeting these spooky flats denizens it really comes down to casting ability, whether it be fly or bait. This number (3) can go up or down depending on how well your presenting the bait. But with all sight-fishing it really is the thrill of the hunt that counts. Finding the fish, making the cast, watching the bite, setting the hook and watching your line scream off the reel! Man it doesn't get any better than that! Meanwhile, down at Flamingo west of the Keys, fishing for redfish, seatrout, black drum, sheepshead, grouper, snapper and mackerel has been consistent with some 50 or 60 fish days. For action and a beautiful back drop you just can't beat Flamingo inside Everglades National Park. So give me a call and let's go have some fun!
